JACTIM FOUNDATION was established for the purpose of contributing to Malaysian cultural, social and educational development, and to help strengthen the mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Malaysia. In 1994, the Foundation was founded with the participation of all ordinary members under JACTIM, and started the fundraising and implemented its contribution activities from 1996.

JACTIM FOUNDATION's initial goal was to build up RM6 million in 2020, which is not realistic and is likely to be difficult to achieve, so it was resolved to give up at the 2008 JACTIM FOUNDATION Annual General Meeting.
